Born
in Lafayette, Indiana, Linda has been a part of creative endeavors
all of her life, exploring the active art culture of the academic
university community. She grew up in the Purdue University
environment, where her father was a professor, which afforded
her great opportunities to explore and experience the vast
array of thought and culture. As a young girl, she spent three
years living in Brazil, South America, while her father led
a USAID project in the interior of the country. Along with
her parents, she was exposed to both the great poverty of this
beautiful country, as well as elite Embassy diplomats.
Linda
obtained her Bachelors Degree in Interior Design from Purdue.
During her studies, she sought a variety of artistic mentoring
that included, thrown and slab pottery, drawing, painting,
mixed media collages, interior design, as well as jewelry
design.
Today,
Linda has captured her dream of creating her vision in designed
jewelry. The aesthetic of the designs are contemporary and
the materials used are traditional. Utilizing such traditional
media as Swarovski crystal pearls, glass beads, gemstones,
acrylic, and polymer clay, she forms these materials into
interesting, sleek, and sometimes minimalist designs.
“Bringing
contemporary jewelry designs to the world need not be difficult
or expensive. My vision is to design what I see in my heart
in order for others to enjoy the beauty of the materials
and to be able to afford one-of-a-kind or limited edition
jewelry. Every woman should have this privilege.”
Through
the experiences
over a lifetime of personal jewelry creation, Linda
fuels the GalleriaLinda online stores with creativity and
unexpected concepts.
